Seva is a spiritual practice of selfless service to others without any expectations of personal gain. It is part of Bhakti Yoga or yoga of devotion, as well as Karma Yoga or yoga of action and service to humanity. The belief behind seva is that all beings in the universe are related to one another. Just as God takes care of us, we should take care of one another and in doing so we also serve God. Seva seeks a collective upliftment by understanding and addressing the needs of others.
At Soul Warrior Yoga we believe that yoga should be available to everyone, regardless of their financial status. We practice seva by offering Yoga at the Park, our weekly class available to the community free of cost.
Serving others is one of the most profound life changing forces in life.
Do you have a seva practice? Want to start your own practice of seva? Tell us about it! We would love to help you get started or support your current seva.
